Music Promotion Fund
Open to individuals and organizations, grants of the Music Promotion Fund aim to support and encourage initiatives that contribute to the artistic development of Quebec musicians.
Conditions of admissibility
- The application must be made by a member of the Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec (GMMQ).
- The project must occur between October 1st of the current year and September 30 of the following year.
- The project must meet at least one of the following goals :
- Promote, stimulate, encourage and promote the dissemination of music in all its forms, including concerts, workshops, various events on music in all aspects including economic, legal, social and cultural aspects ;
- Promote the recruitment, training, orientation and development of musicians.
Evaluation criteria
- Quality of the artistic work ;
- Interest and relevance of the project ;
- Feasibility of the project ;
- Quality being equal, projects involving GMMQ members in good standing and taking place in Quebec will be given preference.
Up to $1,500 may be allocated depending on the project. Projects with other sources of revenue will be given preference.
The budget presented includes the musicians' fees (rehearsals and concerts) respecting the minimum standards of the GMMQ, including discounts, contributions and work permits.
Not eligible: Fellowships, production of sound or audiovisual recordings, launches or promotional activities.
Contents of the application
- Application form completed ;
- Detailed description of the project ;
- Total budget for the realization of your project by specifying all sources of funding ;
- Visibility plan provided for the Music Promotion Fund and the GMMQ ;
- List of people involved in the project and their membership numbers (GMMQ) if applicable ;
- Postage-paid envelope in case you wish to have some documents returned to you.
Conditions for awarding grants
- 50% of the money will be paid once the projects are chosen by the jury.
- 50% of the money will be given to winner(s) upon proof of project completion and filling of the GMMQ contract.
- Please note that those who do not provide these documents can not reapply for the Music Promotion Fund.
